Wine Tasting – Robert Mondavi Sauvignon Blanc

Name: Robert Mondavi Private Selection Sauvignon Blanc
Variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Region: Central Coast, Acampo, California
Country:  United States of America
Year: 2012
Price: $12.00

Winery Review: Green bell pepper and gooseberry notes dominate this Sauvignon Blanc, although it does have notes of honey and Meyer lemons. It’s bright in acidity, and the finish is spicy and clean. For the price, it’s a good value. – 85 points – Wine Enthusiast

My Review: This wine had a beautiful colorless quality. On the nose,  the notes of cat-urine were very highlighted as were the hints of fresh-cut grass. There was also as pleasant citrus profile. On the palate, the grassy and citrus-y aromas were well-translated. The wine was smooth and surprisingly not dry. This wine finished crisp and with a suggestion of mint.  I did, however, think that this wine was also a little watery and nothing special.

With food?: I didn’t have food with this wine.
