Wine Tasting – 667 Pinot Noir

Name: 667 Noble Vines Pinot Noir
Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Region: Monterey, Central Coast, California
Country: United States of America
Year: 2012
Price: $12.00

Winery Review: For $15 or less, you can’t expect a great Pinot Noir, but you can expect a good everyday one, which is what this is. It’s dry, silky and smooth, with cherry pie and white pepper flavors. – 85 points – Wine Enthusiast

My Review: NOT THE BIGGEST FAN. This wine had a seriously earthy, herby aroma, which is fine. I actually like that, but those desirable aromas DID NOT translate to the palate of this wine. On the palate, this wine is super light and hot. With 13.5% alcohol, I would have hoped that the alcohol in this wine was better integrated, but I detected serious heat paired with bits of cherry and acid. Not a fan. I’m not sure I’d get this wine again…

With food?: I tried this wine without food.
