Wine Tasting – Pacific Rim Framboise

Name: NV Pacific Rim Framboise
Variety: Raspberry
Region: Pacific County, Washington, USA
Country: USA
Year: n/a
Price: $16.99

Winery Review: This is made by fermenting raspberries to about 0.5% alcohol, then adding grape spirits to produce a hybrid between liqueur and wine. Intensely fragrant, with 16.5% alcohol and 16% residual sugar. The raspberry flavors are concentrated and pure, with amazing persistence. Use this in cocktails or mix it with bubbly.—90 points –Wine Enthusiast

My Review: RASPBERRIES. RASPBERRIES. RASPBERRIES. Obviously, the name of this dessert wine gives it away. I loved this wine. This wine lacked too much acidity while remaining a little tart.  While the over-arching flavor is of raspberries, there are also hints of herbs and licorice. Super sweet with a lingering melted raspberry sorbet finish.

With food?: I tried this wine on its own without food.
